How To Paint Digitally over a Pencil Sketch (GIMP) by nataliebeth How To Paint Digitally over a Pencil Sketch (GIMP) by nataliebeth
Download for fullsize. If you have trouble reading my writing, comment and I'll decipher for you. ;)

Step-by-step of

Hi All,

I don't know how much this will help, but I thought I'd give a bit more of a detailed description of how I work. I also found this was something that I struggled with a while ago, so I figured maybe it may help someone. :aww:

This was done in GIMP, but will work just as well in Photoshop, with a few exceptions that shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Thanks all, if you have any questions, don't hesitate.

My biggest problem! And I've just found the solution! O.O

So, what you have to know is that I don't have a tablet and I always use mouse for digital drawings. But while drawing, the mouse is shaking causing harsh and crooked lines. (gah, stupid thing >-<) And this is where I give up... :D
But the thing that I can do the outline traditionally where my hand moves are predictible and reliable, I don't have to worry about the ugly lines! *-* Thank you so much!

And thanks for the tips about using different modes at the end of the work! They seem very useful! :)
