Additionally I have added a realistic imaginative example of painting features.

So, I don't need twenty different layers to do digital painting? 'cause that's the vibe this tutorial is giving me.

Thank you for your kind offer :)
I bought a Wacom Intuos tablet, unfortunately I found it completely unusable.
I have no idea how to draw a clean line. It's a mystery to me how digital artists produce such precise artwork. I'm a proficient traditional artist, but digital art using a tablet escapes me.
Unless I can get help, I will be unable to draw freehand digital pictures.

It does take a lot of practice! I often will re-draw lines a few times, or use shortcuts which make straight lines, like if you hold down shift when making a line it will go straight. When drawing, I tend to draw traditionally and then scan it in and colour digitally. :)
Hope you find your niche!

When I did an internet search I discovered the name "wacom intuos" covers several different models.
I don't know which one to buy.

I'll give you the exact model. If you want a link on BestBuy or something I can give that also. It's called "Wacom Intuos Creative Pen and Touch Tablet". It's around $100. It's a little pricey, but I think it is more worth than a $30 tablet that I used to have that broke down after 2 months. I recommend this brand.

I don't mind the money, because if I get a good one straight away I won't need to buy another later.
I'm in the UK, never heard of "Best Buy".
I would appreciate a link though, thank you :)

I have a question. I don't use gimp for art work(I only use it for photos) because my tablet always lags on it =(
Do you know how to fix this problem?

Thanks for the tutorial =D

If your tablet is lagging you can try reinstalling the software, or downloading the latest version of Gimp. If you still have problems it may be a computer issue, like you don't have enough ram or something.

You're so welcome!

Tablet lagging is fixed. Thanks friend. However healing/clone stamp lags with or without tablet. I not sure if its hardware cause only 30% of processor is used.

Oh I'm glad to hear that!
I don't think it's a software thing, the healing brush has a lot of work to do at any one time, so just the process of implementing the action is probably causing the lag. :)

Sorry to butt in, but I was just passing by and noticed your question on lag and GIMP. Have you tried going into view and unchecking 'rulers?'. I find that having the rulers displayed makes GIMP lag with my tablet something chronic but it works fine with them off...
